Drone Alone
There are some of us who seem 'genetically predisposed' to the sound of bagpipes. With my 50th birthday fast approaching, back in 2003, I set myself the task of learning to play the pipes. With no intention of becoming a 'Pipe Major', my aim was simply to be able to pick up a set o'pipes and 'knock-out' a tune. Well I am self-taught and therefore play poorly and unconventionally but hey...i can knock-out a tune! I have been privileged to play at three New Year's Eves, several Burns' Suppers and St Andrew's Day celebrations too, so ney too bad. I've tried my hand at the Scottish Smallpipes too, they are great fun and not so loud!!!
It's not just the pipes - the 'Mother-of-all-Drones' ~ DIDGERIDOO - I do!
